Munich-based Agile Robots intends to build up to 2,000 humanoid robots in 2027, relying entirely on NVIDIA technology. Chief Executive Officer Zhaopeng Chen told reporters that manufacturing will start by the close of 2026.
On October 21, the firm debuted its new Agile ONE SN robot during NVIDIA's GTC conference located in Berlin. The letters SN designate the version specifically tailored for NVIDIA. It operates on the Jetson Thor computing architecture from NVIDIA and uses the Isaac GR00T artificial intelligence model for movement and learning.
Measuring 1.4 meters in height, the Agile ONE SN weighs about 40 kilograms. It features 31 degrees of freedom, five-fingered hands, alongside integrated cameras. Consequently, the machine manages delicate operations like grasping items and engaging with its surroundings.
AGILE ROBOTS UNVEILS NVIDIA-POWERED HUMANOID, TARGETS UP TO 2,000 ROBOTS IN 2027 Germany's Agile Robots unveiled Agile ONE SN at NVIDIA's GTC Berlin, a new humanoid robot built for AI research and development. CEO Zhaopeng Chen told Reuters the company plans to produce between 1,000 and 2,000 humanoid robots across its ONE S and ONE SN models in 2027, with production expected to begin by the end of 2026.
Agile Robots built this variant to serve as a streamlined research tool. ETH Zurich along with Stanford University rank among prospective buyers, though the business has not finalized any purchases yet.
NVIDIA notes that its system combines hardware, training, simulation, and deployment utilities into a single location. This arrangement shrinks setup duration for investigators from weeks down to days, as stated by the firm. Spencer Huang, who works as an NVIDIA product director, mentioned that the uniform configuration can save researchers two to three months of separately purchasing and putting together components.
Jensen Huang, chief executive officer of NVIDIA, addressed the audience during the gathering as well. He remarked that general-purpose robotics progresses rapidly and stated that the ChatGPT moment for robotics is fast approaching. He stated that the platform supplies developers with the computing systems, data, and models required to introduce physical artificial intelligence to major sectors.
Established back in 2018, Agile Robots started as a spin-off originating from the German Aerospace Center. Staffing levels currently span between 2,300 and 3,500 workers, while revenue projections reach roughly $695 million for 2026. Backers such as Xiaomi and SoftBank supported the enterprise during a 2018 funding phase that established a valuation near $1 billion. Competitors like NEURA Robotics operate within the expanding European humanoid sector too.
