Rehan Ashraf, who owned the GMSA company, died on the night of October 17 in Faisalabad after being shot while trying to get back his stolen Toyota Cygnus SUV. The vehicle vanished from valet parking at the Chenab Club in the city, and the fatal shooting happened after he intercepted it on Jaranwala Road.

Police records show that Rehan reached Chenab Club at about 9 pm alongside his brother, Muhammad Hassan Ashraf, and several friends. They drove a white Islamabad-registered Toyota Cygnus, giving the car and keys to a valet parking employee prior to heading inside for dinner.

Tracker Alerts Exposed the Theft

Before they could eat, tracking alerts indicated the vehicle was repeatedly turned on and off. They hurried back outside and discovered the car gone, with the FIR noting that the attendant entrusted with the keys had taken the vehicle.

Hassan stated he promptly reached out to the tracking firm and dialed the 15 police helpline. The tracking company transmitted real-time location data, allowing Rehan and his friends to pursue the SUV in a separate automobile.

Shot at Close Range on Jaranwala Road

Real-time coordinates brought them to Jaranwala Road close to the Bijli Ghar stop, where the vehicle sat trapped in heavy traffic near a UBL branch. Congestion stemmed from ongoing construction for the Metro project.

Rehan exited and sprinted toward his vehicle with friends following closely. Upon reaching it, he questioned the driver about taking his car. Two unknown men then emerged, and one opened fire with a pistol.

The projectile struck the right side of Rehan's neck, causing him to fall. The culprits escaped toward Bijli Ghar waving firearms. Although rushed to a hospital, Rehan succumbed to his wounds.

Police Register Murder and Robbery Case

Faisalabad Police opened an investigation based on Hassan's complaint under Sections 392 and 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code for robbery and murder. The report lists two unknown suspects whom witnesses can identify if apprehended.

Reports indicate Rehan was the son of Haji Ashraf Qadri, head of the GMSA Group. Faisalabad CPO Tanvir Hussain addressed the case by requesting a report from SP Iqbal Division Saeed Ahmed, while officers search for the perpetrators.
