Fifty-eight buildings were locked up by the Capital Development Authority during a crackdown targeting rules breaches along the Islamabad Expressway, with 377 total structures flagged for legal proceedings, including 281 commercial properties.

According to the authority, the campaign has collected Rs250.59 million thus far, while approximately Rs3 billion is still owed based on applicable rules and regulations.

Out of the total properties flagged, the agency noted that 124 structures located between Sohan and Khanna Bridge are designated for demolition.

On Thursday, CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf inspected the progress on the Islamabad Expressway Service Road East project and instructed staff to finish the work on schedule while keeping up construction standards and following the official design.

During his site visit, he received a briefing regarding the crackdown on unlawful constructions, illegal business operations, and breaches of building control rules along the highway.

The chairman instructed relevant departments to enforce building control laws, land-use policies, and mandatory fire safety rules equally, emphasizing that construction standards must remain high on all development projects.
