Chinese reports indicate that Huawei might debut the Mate X8 foldable device as soon as next month, following the November release of the previous Mate X7 model last year.

Reports suggest the upcoming device will sport a 6.5-inch cover screen along with an 8.15-inch internal folding panel. Photographic capabilities might see substantial improvements via a 50MP primary shooter carrying a 1/1.28-inch sensor and variable aperture, alongside a 50MP periscope telephoto lens.

Power storage represents another anticipated enhancement. Leaks point to a cell of at least 6,000mAh, surpassing the older model, though official verification from Huawei is still pending.

Processing power will likely rely on Kirin 9050 and Kirin 9050 Pro chips, distributed across various editions of the device. Specific performance metrics and hardware distinctions remain unverified at this stage.

A privacy display capability is also anticipated, mirroring technology introduced on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra earlier in the year. This function restricts visibility from specific angles to safeguard sensitive data, though uncertainty remains regarding whether it will appear on one or both screens.

While these unconfirmed specifications point to larger screens, updated chips, a bigger battery, and privacy protection, official word from Huawei is still missing before any release takes place.
