The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that Pakistan will stage the 12-team Women's T20 World Cup from September 7 to October 1, 2028, as part of its updated 2027-2031 event calendar.
Following the women's competition, the Men's T20 World Cup will be held in Australia and New Zealand from October 12 to November 12, 2028, beginning just 11 days after the women's final.
The revised schedule, released after ICC meetings in Dubai earlier this month, lists 12 men's, seven women's and five Under-19 events, including qualifiers.
Qualifying tournaments for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics have also been shifted to January and February 2028 for both men's and women's teams.
Cricket returns to the Olympics for the first time since 1900, with the United States eligible for direct qualification in both genders if they rank in the top 15 of the T20I tables between June 30 and December 31, 2026.
The USA men's side, currently 13th, is on track for automatic entry, while the women's team, ranked 19th, may miss out unless they meet the ranking cut-off.
If the USA women fail to qualify automatically, their spot will be decided by standings at the inaugural Women's Champions Trophy in India in February 2027.
Australia, India, South Africa and Great Britain have already secured women's Olympic berths. The highest-ranked eligible men's teams from Africa, Asia, Europe and Oceania will also qualify directly based on the December 31, 2026 rankings.
Both Olympic qualifying tournaments will feature eight teams, though venues remain unannounced.
The ICC also confirmed that the 2029 World Test Championship final will be staged in England from June 8 to 12.
Additionally, the 2030 Men's T20 World Cup, jointly hosted by England, Ireland and Scotland, has been moved from June to July and August.
Further information on venues and qualification details will be released later.
