Residents across the service area will experience temporary electricity outages as the Islamabad Electric Supply Company undertakes system maintenance from October 15 to February 8, 2027, as part of the Annual System Maintenance Program for 2026-27.

Work crews will target power transformers spanning more than 130 132kV grid stations, alongside over 1,295 11kV feeders, transmission lines, and various electrical facilities. Officials will cut power on impacted feeders temporarily to finish the tasks.

Engr. Chaudhry Khalid Mehmood, who serves as the Iesco Chief Executive Officer, told departments to give prior notice to customers regarding upcoming outages. He ordered field crews to restrict outages to approved timeframes and adhere to safety guidelines and standard operating procedures during all tasks.

Field supervisors need to oversee operations and guarantee that personnel stay on site at their designated locations, based on the directives.

A representative for Iesco stated that the initiative will upgrade the distribution grid by fixing current technical problems and boosting overall network reliability. These enhancements aim to deliver steadier power delivery, specifically during periods of high demand, alongside lowering technical breakdowns and tripping events.
