Defence Minister Rajnath Singh warned Pakistan that India would mount a larger military strike than earlier operations if a new terrorist attack, which New Delhi attributes to Pakistani territory, occurs.

Speaking at the Times Network National Defence Conclave in New Delhi on Thursday, October 15, Singh said any further terror activity originating from Pakistan would provoke a stronger response.

He referred to past Indian actions, noting that New Delhi has taken a more aggressive stance against what it calls cross-border terrorism.

Singh listed the 2016 surgical strikes, the 2019 Balakot airstrikes and Operation Sindoor as examples of India's military reaction to security threats.

He claimed those operations show a shift from diplomatic condemnation to direct military action against suspected militant targets.

The minister added that India's commitment to peace should not be taken as weakness, saying New Delhi backs dialogue and peaceful solutions but remains ready to use force to protect its sovereignty and national interests.

India's Ministry of Defence later echoed his comments in an official statement, reiterating the warning of a stronger response to any future attack blamed on Pakistan.
