On October 21, 2026, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi went to the home of the late student Laiba Ijaz to share condolences and show support, joined by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry.
Naqvi offered prayers for the late student and updated her relatives on how the police investigation is moving forward.
He additionally presented upwards of Rs5 million to the father of Laiba, which came from funds taken by a suspected fraudster who allegedly cheated the young woman out of her cash.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi received thanks from Laiba's father for their backing, and he noted that his relatives truly felt the help provided by the government.
Authorities will maintain their work to track down the rest of the funds and keep pushing the investigation forward, Naqvi promised the family.
