Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited plans to halt gas delivery to multiple Islamabad districts on Monday night, October 19, to perform maintenance on primary pipelines.

Service will shut down starting at 9 PM across most impacted zones and at 10 PM in the Blue Area, returning at 6 AM on Tuesday, October 20.

The utility provider published the timeline through two separate service interruption notices on its official X profile.

Faizabad to Khanna Pul Areas

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited stated that the initial outage is necessary to complete a connection on the primary line stretching between Faizabad and Khanna Pul. Natural gas will stay disconnected starting at 9 PM Monday through 6 AM Tuesday across these locations:

  • Ghouri Town to Faizabad service road (east)
  • Lehtrar Road (Khanna Pul to Burma Town)
  • Sohan
  • Ghouri Town
  • Gulberg Town
  • Shakrial
  • Rehman Garden
  • Burma Town
  • Garden Town and adjoining areas

Blue Area and G-7

A second service halt stems from removing a primary pipeline section within the Blue Area. Gas service for Sector G-7, the Blue Area, and surrounding locations will stop at 10 PM Monday and resume at 6 AM Tuesday.

Consumers Asked to Turn Off Gas Appliances

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited urged residents within these zones to prepare backup solutions during the outage. The corporation additionally instructed residents to power down all gas equipment during the interruption to prevent mishaps.

This bulletin follows a separate Rawalpindi gas outage notice issued a day prior. Earlier in the month, the national administration rolled out its winter gas regulation strategy.
