The Islamabad High Court (IHC) dismissed petitions that sought regularisation for teaching staff and computer teachers employed in federal government colleges.

Justice Shahrukh Arjumand issued a 32-page written judgment that affirmed the scrutiny, test and interview procedures carried out under the communications issued by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), the Establishment Division and the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).

Assistant Attorney General Usman Ghuman represented the federal government in the case.

The court noted that the Cabinet's Sub-Committee on Regularisation did not have the legal authority to recommend appointments at Basic Pay Scale (BPS) 16 and above.
