Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated on Wednesday in Barakahu that Islamabad will transition its entire electricity distribution network underground over the next two years, working alongside the Islamabad Electric Supply Company.

During his remarks, Naqvi detailed multiple development projects designed to upgrade local infrastructure, clean up public areas, and boost the visual appeal of the capital city.

Authorities are currently moving to reclaim about 108 kanals of state property that has reportedly stayed illegally occupied for roughly 30 years, according to the minister.

Additional plans involve building eight museums focused on national culture spanning roughly 150 acres to display and protect the heritage and history of Pakistan.

Naqvi voiced worry about commercial areas transforming into waste sites because of poor upkeep, noting that cleanup operations have started and broken roads across different sectors will be fixed.
