The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) prohibited TikTok, SnackVideo, and other social media applications across university grounds after receiving grievances regarding videos filmed and distributed without the consent of students.

The Directorate of Student Affairs released a notification stating that authorities implemented the measure to safeguard the dignity and privacy of female scholars.

University officials received reports concerning individuals recording female students without authorization, with certain clips subsequently posted on social media platforms.

Campus administration acted by placing restrictions on TikTok, SnackVideo, and alternative social media applications within university boundaries.

Such incidents will be forwarded by the university to its disciplinary committee, which will examine situations involving the production or distribution of objectionable material.

School leadership warned that any persons caught breaching these limitations will encounter disciplinary measures in line with university regulations.
