Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated on Wednesday that Islamabad's Kashmir Chowk Underpass should open to traffic within the next 10 days, with construction now reaching its 12th day.

During a media talk at the location, Naqvi mentioned that contractors, the Capital Development Authority, and other crews are laboring continuously to finish the build rapidly.

"Today is the 12th day since work on the Kashmir Underpass began. The progress is visible, and we will try to open it to traffic within the next 10 days," he stated.

According to Naqvi, crews kept the project moving without halting traffic or setting up major detours, though drivers might have faced minor trouble. He praised the teamwork between traffic police and the Capital Development Authority for maintaining vehicle movement during the construction period.

The project seeks to reduce traffic jams at Kashmir Chowk for motorists heading toward Murree from various areas of Pakistan. Naqvi noted that the path past the junction was already open, which should support better traffic movement.

He added that officials will open the passage immediately upon completion and plans to ask Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to lead the opening ceremony. Naqvi additionally mentioned his expectation that the project will stand as one of the country's most rapidly finished infrastructure works.
