Provincial authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa promised backing to bring the informal gemstone market into the formal economy, boost value addition, and eliminate commercial hurdles so local gems and jewellery can rival international competitors.

During a session with a delegation from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Gems and Jewellery Association headed by president Muhammad Salman Niazi, advisory council member Dr. Muhammad Irshad provided this commitment. Representatives from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade were also present at the gathering.

Traders Seek Better Market Access and Export Growth

Attendees talked about obstacles impacting local gems and jewellery enterprises, concentrating on shifting informal commerce into the official system to raise foreign exchange revenue and expand exports according to global benchmarks.

Irshad stated that the administration, in cooperation with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade, will implement measures to assist businesses, foster value addition, and resolve trade obstacles to elevate the standing of regional goods abroad.

Niazi informed the assembly that a delegation from the association will travel to Germany for a global trade show displaying provincial gemstones and classic jewellery. He noted that three association delegates reached Germany three days prior to prepare for the group's arrival.
