Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi announced Rs. 1 million for the family of each child killed in the Dir Colony school tragedy and Rs. 200,000 for each injured person during a visit to the school in Peshawar, while also demanding that investigators determine who issued a no-objection certificate for the decaying structure under the past administration.

The inquiry will review the behavior of the school owner alongside all related offices, and authorities will take measures against any guilty parties, according to Kundi.

Kundi accused the prior administration of neglecting school inspections, stating that bureaucratic failure permitted safety risks to remain unaddressed, and promised accountability no matter where the fault lies.

The governor stated that the inquiry will wrap up in four days, maintaining that authorities will take concrete action rather than just forming a committee, while criticizing past reactions to similar events as mere photo opportunities and committee talks.

School owner Khan Muhammad was arrested following allegations of structural faults, and law enforcement filed a chargesheet targeting the owners, shareholders, and builder.

Thirty children and one female teacher died in the collapse, which left 52 individuals wounded, with the FIR stating that administrators disregarded earlier warnings concerning crumbling walls and ceilings.
