The Lahore High Court declared the withdrawal of MDCAT question papers from test-takers unlawful, ordering the administration to publish all exam papers on the app right away. This ruling came from the Rawalpindi bench of the Lahore High Court after judges accepted petitions filed by students challenging the practice.
Justice Ahsan Raza Kazmi delivered the verdict from the Rawalpindi bench, instructing the PMDC leadership to upload the question papers onto the application without delay. Students Rehan Shahid and Anabia Tahir brought the legal challenge, with Assistant Attorney General Malik Zaheer Arshad appearing on behalf of the federation.
Legal counsel Barrister Imran Afrasiyab argued that retaining test papers is a lawful and constitutional entitlement for every candidate, calling the actions of the PMDC unconstitutional, unlawful, and unethical. Justice Ahsan Raza Kazmi ordered that the ruling take effect immediately, noting that the PMDC has no authority to distribute exam papers to candidates only to confiscate them afterward.
