Millat Industrial Products Limited (MIPL), a subsidiary of Millat Tractors Limited (MTL), signed a cooperation agreement with China's Xiao Dao (XDAO) to advance electric mobility in Pakistan.
Chairman of Millat Group of Industries Sikander Mustafa Khan said the deal covers technology transfer, especially lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery technology, and the localisation of key components and parts for electric motorcycles.
The move aligns with the Prime Minister's electrification policy and is expected to lower Pakistan's import bill by fostering domestic production, cutting reliance on imported parts and preserving foreign exchange.
Under the pact, Millat intends to speed up localisation of electric motorcycles and later export the locally-made products, supporting the country's industrial development and export growth. The Engineering Development Board (EDB) has provided substantial assistance, offering support and facilitation for the project.
Through this collaboration, Millat aims to merge international technology with Pakistan's manufacturing strengths to create a sustainable electric-mobility ecosystem and reinforce the engineering and automotive sector.
