The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has begun offering a digital attestation system for consular documents at its Islamabad headquarters and liaison offices in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and Gujrat, effective October 12, 2026.

According to a circular dated October 14, the ministry announced that applicants requesting general or apostille attestation can now receive electronic certificates (e-Certificates) by email after completing the required steps and paying the set fees.

The platform enables users to have their documents attested without traveling to the ministry's headquarters or liaison offices, unless physical presence is specifically required.

MOFA has instructed its staff to promote electronic submission of documents to enhance convenience, transparency and service delivery.

Applicants may use the online attestation portal at https://portal-attestation.mofa.gov.pk.
