Lawyers in Multan physically attacked the suspect charged with crushing 15-year-old orphan Wasir to death, then announced that no advocate from the city would take his case, as another attorney volunteered to represent the victim's family without charge.
The counsel for Wasir stated the local bar had come together to back the family and pursue justice through the courts.
The lawyer told local media he would handle the case pro bono.
Residents of the neighbourhood also resolved to support Wasir's family via legal means.
Social-media videos show additional people near the suspect during the incident.
When the tragedy occurred, one individual was in the car with the alleged killer and two more were on a nearby motorcycle. Lawyers said some participants have not yet been identified and police are searching for them.
The legal community pledged to assist the victim's relatives and confirmed that no Multan lawyer would appear for the accused.
The family remains under severe distress after the event.
