Sixteen minor children were rescued and placed into protective custody from a Multan orphanage by the Punjab Child Protection and Welfare Bureau after a local incident occurred.

Chairperson Sarah Ahmad directed the operation, prompting a delegation from the Multan office to inspect the facility on Wednesday, per an official release.

Authorities transferred the minors to the Multan Centre of the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau to ensure their safety and proper care.

Chairperson Sarah Ahmad stated that the protection and welfare of minors stayed the primary focus, noting that failure to look after them properly would meet zero tolerance.
