During the 2026-2029 contract term, President and Chief Executive Officer Imran Sarwar will receive a compensation package approved by the shareholders of the National Bank of Pakistan.
Sarwar gets a pre-tax monthly salary of Rs9.5 million under this arrangement. Additionally, he receives a monthly house rent allowance of Rs1 million, which increases his fixed monthly pay.
An annual bonus tied to performance forms part of the package as well. This incentive operates independently of his regular earnings and relies on specific criteria outlined in his employment conditions.
Two automobiles are provided for Sarwar during his tenure. Furthermore, his contract grants him life insurance valued at Rs30 million, with the bank and the CEO splitting the annual premium equally.
These approved conditions stay constant for the entire duration of the contract, meaning the salary, housing stipend, and other perks do not change from 2026 to 2029.
Financial terms for the highest executive role at the bank are finalized through this shareholder vote. The compensation merges fixed monthly pay alongside housing, transport, insurance, and performance bonuses.
Clarity regarding Sarwar's pay structure during his time leading the bank is now established. Fixed portions stay constant, while the yearly bonus offers extra compensation based on annual work output.
The agreement covers Sarwar's salary and extra perks until the end of the three-year contract approved by the bank investors.
