Starting October 21, 2026, the Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Department will start handing out free buffaloes and cows to chosen divorced and widowed women residing in South Punjab.
Applicants for the Chief Minister's Livestock Asset Transfer Scheme can verify their selection status on the official online portal, based on the recent departmental update.
This project gives farm animals to qualified rural women so they can earn money via livestock rearing and dairy farming.
Electronic balloting for the second phase took place on October 14 by the Punjab government. The Punjab Information Technology Board stated that 3,380 women will get free animals through this effort.
An estimated budget of Rs. 3 billion is allocated for this second phase. Animals go to qualified women after selection and verification.
