Media reports indicate that OpenAI nears a funding deal of up to $30 billion that would value the company at $1.25 trillion. UAE investors and Coatue are reported to lead this financing round, though both parties are still finalizing terms and alterations remain possible.

Should this agreement be completed, OpenAI will secure the status of history's most valuable private enterprise. The firm's previous fundraising occurred in March 2026 at an $852 billion valuation, meaning the upcoming round represents a roughly 50% increase in value over a span of seven months.

Revenue growth mirrors this rapid increase in enterprise value. Before ChatGPT debuted in 2022, OpenAI brought in $28 million that year, but revenue surged to $3.7 billion by 2024. Bloomberg forecasts that earnings will hit $29.4 billion by the conclusion of 2026.

By April 2025, ChatGPT surpassed 500 million weekly users alongside more than 20 million paying subscribers. Consequently, the valuation climbed from $29 billion in January 2023 to $157 billion by October 2024, later hitting $300 billion in March 2025 following a $40 billion round led by SoftBank.

CNBC notes that the participation of the UAE might extend past financial backing. The capital injection could form part of a broader pact providing OpenAI with regional access to enhanced computing resources, though the company declined to comment on the matter.

A month prior, Bloomberg detailed a similar transaction carrying an increased valuation of $1.4 trillion, indicating terms may have adjusted. Such a steep valuation elevates expectations for an eventual public offering, following OpenAI's confidential submission of IPO paperwork in June.

Competitors in the artificial intelligence sector are also seeing record figures. Rival firm Anthropic secured $65 billion at a $965 billion valuation in May, submitted IPO documents in June, and now targets a public valuation between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion according to CNBC.
