Emerging all-rounder Arafat Minhas of Pakistan entered a select group of national cricketers by hitting a half-century and securing a five-wicket haul within the same ODI, joining Shahid Afridi and Abdul Razzaq.

During the second fixture of the home tri-series against England, the 21-year-old reached this milestone and powered the home team to an 87-run triumph.

Appearing in just his fifth ODI following his debut against Australia in May this year, Minhas produced a decisive display with bat and ball.

As Pakistan faced trouble at 133/5 after 27.3 overs, the left-handed batsman entered the crease and hit nine boundaries during his knock of 59 runs from 58 balls. Team recovery was aided by Hasan Nawaz and his aggressive 79 runs, bringing the total to a competitive 302/9 across 50 overs.

Minhas then excelled in bowling by capturing six wickets while conceding 40 runs across 8.4 overs, leading to England getting bowled out 87 runs shy of the target.

This achievement places Minhas as the third Pakistani player to accomplish the rare ODI double, following past all-rounders Afridi and Razzaq.

Shahid Afridi stood as the initial Pakistani to reach this mark by collecting 61 runs and taking 5/40 versus England at Lahore in 2000. Afridi also holds the distinction of being the sole global cricketer to manage the feat three times in ODI matches.
