The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has rejected a proposal to cut Pakistani players' salaries in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after a virtual meeting with franchise owners.
During that session, one franchise owner voiced concerns over high player salaries and asked for a review, but the PCB declined to approve the suggestion.
The board also ordered all parties with pending payments to settle them by October 31.
An official from a defaulting company told the PCB that the firm would meet its financial obligations.
"We are not going to run away. I will arrange a bank guarantee against my land and submit it to the PCB," the official said.
A representative of another defaulting franchise said he was unaware of the issue and that only the company's owner could give further details.
The PSL Season 12 auction is slated for January 23, and one franchise owner suggested holding it in China.
PCB set January 13 as the deadline for player retentions, though another franchise owner proposed moving the deadline to December.
Another team owner said he would share his views after consulting his cricket operations team.
According to the proposed schedule, PSL 12 will start on March 18, with the final on May 2 at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium.
The South Asian Games will be held in Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar from April 4 to 11, meaning no PSL matches will be played in those cities during that time.
The tournament timetable will be finalized at the next cricket committee meeting.
PCB officials also briefed franchise representatives on promising young talent emerging from school cricket.
The board said it intends to develop these players into future stars and urged franchises to assess, identify and nurture talent within their squads.
Franchise owners responded positively to the proposal.
