Locals and business owners throughout Peshawar have experienced a full week without mobile network access, while daily electricity cuts lasting up to 16 hours add further disruption to daily routines.
Citizens report that mobile signals remain absent in the walled city, GT Road, Hashtnagri, Charsadda Road, Warsak Road, Dalazak Road, University Road, and Hayatabad. They explained that the extended blackouts interfering with daily life run up to 16 hours daily.
Local business operators stated that the ongoing lack of mobile coverage has harmed commerce. Day-to-day communication, courier services, and digital payments have faced disruptions, causing financial damage for numerous merchants.
On Tuesday, people living in Hayatabad called for internet service restoration in Phases 6 and 7. Local residents Saadullah Khan and Ibrahim Khan spoke with reporters, asking the district administration, the Home Department, and mobile carriers to intervene quickly and bring back service without delay.
"This is not merely a matter of internet connectivity, but it concerns the education of children, the livelihoods of people, emergency communication and the fundamental needs of ordinary citizens," they said. They pressed officials to address community concerns and resolve the issue.
They noted that schools are currently holding mid-term examinations, and educators distribute most assignments through WhatsApp, which pupils cannot open offline. They also asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor to intervene and order relevant agencies to reinstate coverage in the two phases.
Local inhabitants mentioned that officials have not yet implemented meaningful solutions for either the signal failure or the extended electricity suspensions.
