Pakistan adjusted its petroleum rates effective October 23, 2026, lowering petrol by Rs. 1.60 per litre and raising high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs. 1.64 per litre.
After the change, petrol fell from Rs. 379.31 to Rs. 377.71 per litre. Diesel rose from Rs. 390.11 to Rs. 391.75 per litre.
The reduction offers modest relief to petrol consumers, but the diesel increase could raise transportation and freight expenses.
Because diesel powers trucks, buses and farm equipment, the higher price may affect the cost of goods and everyday essentials if operators pass on the added costs.
