The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has intensified countrywide monitoring of telecom services to boost mobile network coverage, voice call quality and internet performance.
From October 8 to 14, 2026, the regulator conducted checks through its ten zonal offices located in Thatta, Dera Ghazi Khan, Mandi Bahauddin, Quetta, Faisalabad and Gilgit-Baltistan.
During these inspections, PTA staff evaluated telecom offerings and pinpointed consumer-impacting problems. Operators were ordered to remedy issues concerning mobile coverage, voice calls and internet services within the deadlines given.
The authority also reported that a problem involving the shutdown of a telecom site in Faisalabad has been settled.
PTA said it will keep collaborating with telecom operators, relevant bodies and local administrations to enhance network performance and deliver more reliable telecom services across the nation.
