Fresh dates for the Basant festival in Lahore have received approval from the Punjab cabinet, which greenlit a summary to move the event to March 12, 13 and 14, 2027.
According to sources, the updated timeline was established following approval from the provincial ministers. The Lahore deputy commissioner originally submitted the proposal to the Punjab Home Department, which subsequently passed it along to the cabinet.
Previously, provincial authorities planned a 10-day celebration running from January 29 to February 7, 2027. Officials discarded that timeline in favor of the new three-day period in March.
