Punjab distributed Rs 14.5 billion among mosque imams through a province-wide honorarium initiative, according to an update on the financial assistance programme. The Home Department finalized registrations for more than 76,000 mosques throughout Punjab to support religious leaders with fixed financial benefits.

Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique stated that funding for the scheme exceeds Rs 20 billion annually. This effort forms part of the administration's broader plan to deliver financial help to imams working in communities across the province.

Authorities instructed registered imams to maintain active bank accounts so payments arrive without delay. Recipients need to complete a minimum of one transaction every three months to stop any disruption in their honorarium payments.

Officials emphasized that keeping banking records active is necessary for the uninterrupted continuation of financial aid under this scheme.
