Authorities in Punjab announced that the annual school census for the 2026-27 academic year will take place across 38,000 government schools between October 21 and 31.
The Program Monitoring and Implementation Unit, also known as the PMIU, published an online training timeline to get teachers and education staff ready for the process.
Master trainers received instruction on October 16 according to the timeline, while IT teachers, Assistant Education Officers, and head teachers attended online classes from October 17 to 19.
Selected male and female IT teachers from every tehsil act as master trainers. This instruction includes IT staff from high and higher secondary schools, alongside leaders of elementary schools, primary schools, and mosque-based schools.
A test run is set for October 19 and 20 to check the census module.
All designated staff members and teachers received instructions to participate in their assigned training classes so the census finishes by October 31.
