October 23 marks the start of applications for MBBS admissions at private medical institutions across Punjab for the 2026-27 academic session, according to the University of Health Sciences, which established November 6 as the closing date.
Under the admission policy of the Punjab government, a centralized system run by the University of Health Sciences handles the process. November 18 is the scheduled date for the university to release the initial selection list.
December 18 marks the opening of applications for BDS admissions at private dental colleges, running until January 1, 2027. January 13 is when the university plans to release the initial selection list for dental programs.
Within Punjab, 34 private medical institutions provide about 4,500 MBBS slots, while 18 private dental institutions offer 1,100 BDS slots. Qualified individuals belonging to any province as well as overseas Pakistanis may submit applications provided they satisfy the required conditions.
Scores from matriculation or equivalent tests, FSc pre-medical or equivalent tests, and MDCAT exams determine merit, with respective weight percentages of 10 percent, 40 percent, and 50 percent.
MDCAT score requirements are a minimum of 55 percent for MBBS candidates and 50 percent for BDS candidates. FSc pre-medical or equivalent qualification marks must reach at least 60 percent.
A three-day window is given to chosen candidates to pay their fees and report to their assigned institutions. Separate online portals are now available via the university for each program, with MBBS candidates using privatembbs.uhs.edu.pk and BDS candidates using privatebds.uhs.edu.pk.
Before submitting applications, candidates should check the fee schedules, geographical positions, and amenities of the colleges, as recommended by the university. Publication of all merit and selection lists takes place on the official university website.
