The Punjab Revenue Authority stepped up inspections targeting hotels, eateries, and other commercial entities that ignored the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System or kept flawed digital transaction logs. Over the past 24 hours, an agency representative stated that official notices went out to 250 commercial establishments lacking EIMS connections. Additionally, authorities penalized 30 business owners due to tax code breaches and digital payment discrepancies.

During the same timeframe, officials registered upward of 50 fresh commercial entities. Field enforcement actions occurred across Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, and Sargodha.

Officials instructed companies to keep precise sales logs via EIMS and follow relevant tax statutes. The agency is also penalizing firms that manipulate digital logs or dodge taxes, which harms the national treasury.

The representative encouraged buyers to check receipts using the PRA Facilitation App. Public members received recommendations to report establishments on social media if those places hand out unverified bills or reject digital transactions.

The representative noted that proper EIMS utilization prevents money irregularities and broadens the tax base throughout Punjab. The provincial administration persists with initiatives to upgrade tax administration and widen digital oversight for better transparency and rule adherence.
