Thieves stole more than 50 passports containing foreign visas from a delivery bag belonging to a private courier company in Rawalpindi.
A travel agent in Karachi sent the passports, which included visas for Saudi Arabia and other nations. The missing delivery bag additionally held vital documents, mobile phones, parcels, and other valuables belonging to multiple citizens.
Victims reportedly spent millions of rupees altogether to acquire visas and secure jobs overseas. The disappearance of these passports now creates doubts about their upcoming travels and employment prospects.
Local authorities filed a case at Banni Police Station following a complaint by a representative of the courier company and started an inquiry.
Photographs purportedly depicting a suspect, copies of the stolen passports, and a copy of the first information report have reportedly emerged.
At the same time, impacted residents stated that the courier company and the Federal Investigation Agency failed to provide sufficient help concerning the missing documents. The report lacked any comment from both entities.
