The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan has started a full inquiry into the initial public offering of SE Fruits. The regulator wants to check if the data shared with investors is complete and accurate, and also look for any potential negligence during the procedure.
According to the SECP, the review will look closely at how the prospectus of the firm was drafted and cleared. It will check the involvement of the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the auditor, and the consultant linked to the issue.
The commission stated it will look at its own methods for checking public offering filings to spot any gaps in the clearance system.
Chairman Dr. Kabir Sidhu stated that the results will help upgrade the public offering clearance mechanism and build better market openness.
He noted that the goal is to guarantee investors get correct details and keep the public offering procedure clear.
The regulator mentioned that liability will be fixed if the inquiry uncovers any mistakes or carelessness. Parties found at fault might face consequences, based on statements from the commission.
The SECP added that the outcome of the SE Fruits inquiry will be shared with the public. The probe will focus on the clearance and disclosure steps of the offering, alongside the duties of all groups that took part in drafting, checking, and clearing the prospectus.
