Delegates from six nations want to adopt the Government of Sindh's Teacher Licensing Policy to boost educator professional growth, raise teaching quality, and strengthen schooling networks, following global praise for the framework.

Syed Sardar Ali Shah, the Sindh Education Minister, called the milestone a huge accomplishment, stating that the Teacher Licensing Policy demonstrates Pakistan taking the front line in educational and instructional overhauls.

The provincial framework can clear the path for developing nations to elevate teaching benchmarks and build up instructor capabilities, he added.

A delegation from Sindh headed by Syed Rasool Bux Shah, Executive Director of the Sindh Teachers Education Development Authority, attended the DHIS2 Asia Pacific Conference 2026 this month in Colombo, Sri Lanka, representing the School Education and Literacy Department.

HISP Asia put together the event alongside the GPE-KIX EMAP Hub, gathering authorities, researchers, specialists, and partners from Bangladesh, Egypt, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, and the Maldives.

Officials showcased the Sindh administration's Teacher Licensing Policy and its rollout via STEDA at the gathering.

The program seeks to solidify teaching as an occupation, elevate instructor benchmarks, and advance strong frameworks for evaluating and boosting quality in educator training.

Rasha Sharf, Secretary General of the Education Development Fund and Knowledge Lead for South Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa at the KIX-EMAP Hub, praised the Sindh Teacher Licensing program.

Gathering delegates from six nations on a shared platform to study Sindh's journey is a constructive move, she stated.

Sindh has assumed a pioneering stance in the area by suggesting educator certification and taking actionable steps toward its execution, she observed.

Delegates from attending countries, the Federal Government of Pakistan, and other provincial administrations will formulate their own teacher licensing blueprints by January 2027, using Sindh's practical background. This task is part of the wider KIX program encouraging peer learning and school policy updates.
