Islamabad Traffic Police announced that the streets connecting Rawal Dam Chowk and Serena Hotel to Kashmir Chowk will be closed on October 24 and 25, and asked travelers to plan ahead to avoid jams.
The advisory states that motorists must use the alternate routes indicated by officers stationed in the area and cooperate with the police presence.
Drivers heading toward Rawalpindi, Murree, Bhara Kahu, Park Road and Lehtrar Road should divert to Srinagar Highway, Ninth Avenue or Shakarparian Road as instructed.
Traffic police will be positioned at critical locations to direct traffic and help keep flow moving on the suggested detours.
Residents are also told to depart 20 to 25 minutes earlier than normal to offset possible delays, follow all instructions and stay alert to diversions.
