Bahawalpur will broaden its public transport system after 13 electric buses were delivered to the city on Wednesday, increasing the fleet to 35.

Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar confirmed the second batch's arrival, noting the addition has strengthened the e-bus service. He asserted that Bahawalpur now holds the largest electric-bus fleet among Punjab's major cities.

The larger fleet is expected to enable new bus routes, offering residents public transport in more areas, though specific routes have not yet been finalized.

Channar said the district administration will consult elected officials before deciding the routes for the new buses, and will announce the plans after those consultations are completed.
