British-Pakistani businessman Amman Ahmed completed the sale of his enterprise, Music For Pets, for a reported eight-figure amount. American music company Create Music Group finalized the acquisition in 2023, taking ownership of the brand frequently described in media reports as Petflix. Following the transaction, Ahmed retained his positions as President of Music For Pets and Vice President of Business Development.

Back in 2017, Ahmed launched the venture alongside co-founder Ricardo Henriquez by investing £1,000 of his personal funds. The concept originated when Henriquez experimented with soothing audio for his stressed dog, Zuki, in El Salvador. They subsequently created a catalog of calming audio and video tracks designed for dogs and felines. Their YouTube channels, RelaxMyDog and RelaxMyCat, currently boast 4.8 million combined subscribers alongside more than one billion streams across various platforms.

Prior to establishing Music For Pets, Ahmed operated Rormix, a music video application that secured 150,000 monthly users and gathered £250,000 in funding. He ultimately shuttered that project after discovering that raising capital drew his attention away from the actual product. Because of this experience, he developed Music For Pets strictly without external financial backing.

This self-funded strategy proved successful as the business reached over 50 million animals globally, with viewers consuming upwards of 12 million hours of material monthly. Distribution channels for Music For Pets included YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku. Income was generated through ads, streaming royalties, and monthly fees. Create Music Group now intends to pour another $10 million into growing the brand over a 36-month period.

Following the buyout, Ahmed has maintained his work in animal-focused audio production. He released Dreaming Dog, a 13-song record created with Grammy-winning producer ANTAEUS using reggae to soothe canines. He also became a voting member of the Recording Academy, attended the Grammys alongside his father, and operates as an angel investor and mentor at Abbey Road Studios.

Growing up in Armley, Leeds, Ahmed eventually established his base in Manchester. He scaled Music For Pets into an international name while spending a total of only £5,000 on marketing. His path demonstrates a self-made British-Pakistani creator securing a lucrative global business exit.
