On Friday evening, the Capital Development Authority and the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration seized five commercial plazas situated in Mouza Malpur along Murree Road, executing an initiative aimed at reclaiming state property allegedly taken by encroachers.
Teaming up with Islamabad Police, the CDA Enforcement Directorate focused on 108 kanals of public land that authorities report has been occupied for the last twenty years. A prior survey uncovered two fuel stations, nine commercial plazas, 25 houses, and two warehouses sitting on the contested property.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi ordered Islamabad's chief commissioner and CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf to strictly enforce anti-encroachment regulations without exception, prompting the launch of this campaign.
A revenue inspection uncovered potential irregularities within property ownership paperwork. Authorities explained that certain individuals applied documents tied to distinct khasra numbers situated in nearby Mouza Kot Hathial to assert ownership over land in Mouza Malpur.
During a document verification camp, inspectors discovered instances where sale deeds pointed to parcels located approximately 1.5 kilometers away from the actual structures. Consequently, officials are getting ready to initiate legal steps, which involve filing FIRs concerning suspected fraudulent property deals.
Authorities additionally noted that one of the plazas changed hands for Rs. 5 crore merely five months prior. Dr. Anum Fatima, who serves as CDA Deputy Director General Enforcement, stated that the agency will pursue all illegal occupants.
She stated further that the agency plans to contest court-ordered stays through appropriate legal channels while complying with judicial rulings. Both the ICT Administration and the CDA confirmed that the reclamation effort will move forward following verified revenue files and established legal steps.
