Champions League Clash: Bayern and Arsenal Face Off in Munich

Bayern Munich vs Arsenal preview

Two of the pre-tournament favourites collide on matchday three of the Champions League when Bayern host Arsenal.

The Germans are looking to bounce back from MD2 disappointment, when coming back from a 2-0 deficit in their game with Viking, to lead 3-2 before conceding in the 90th minute.

That shock result wasn't helped by Michael Olise's stupidity with 15 minutes to go in getting sent off, meaning he misses this one.

That meant Bayern had drawn two games on the spin, but bounced back sensationally with a 6-1 win over Leipzig at the weekend.

For the Gunners, they'll need a serious improvement on recent performances, though results have been good.

A late Noni Madueke strike seen them beat Nottingham Forest last time out, after wins over Lille and Leeds before it.

Team selection will be key for Mikel Arteta here too, with Madueke making a difference in the games he's come on and the Gunners boss needing to make four subs to clinch the win last time out.

But Arsenal have won both European games so far this season so have room to play with.

Goals

A frightening prospect but Arsenal have built their recent success on a strong defence.
