Developer CD Projekt RED rolled out Update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077 yesterday. Although the studio wrapped up active development on the title back in 2024, the team keeps supporting the hit game. Creators bypassed Update 2.4 to deliver a bigger content package designed to keep users exploring Night City.
Edgerunners 2 Crossover And New Quests
To mark the debut of the Netflix show Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2, CD Projekt RED included fresh crossover content. Users can play a new side quest named Clampdown, which happens prior to the anime storyline. Gamers can also obtain a five-piece gear set inspired by the character King. A new radio station, HKGN 102.0 FM, plays music from the entire Edgerunners franchise.
Users will also find another side quest featuring a city tour narrated by founder Richard Night. Completionists can track down 12 new Minor Arcana Tarot Cards to unlock a special reward.
Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 Evolves The Gameplay
Update 2.5 adds the Double Trouble perk to the Cool skill tree, letting users dual-wield Power Pistols and Revolvers. Users can customize hand cyberware by visiting one of five new Glamdocs locations on the map. These shops provide colorful skins for Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, and Projectile Launch System.
The patch delivers five new clothing collections from city vendors, Twitch Drop car skins, and new NPC hairstyles for V.
Cross-Platform Mods And Major Tech Upgrades
Update 2.5 brings Cross-Platform Mod Support via mod.io. Players on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 can install user-made mods from the in-game menu.
The patch includes support for DLSS 4.5, MetalFX Frame Interpolation, and glasses-free 3D effects for Samsung Odyssey 3D monitors. Console users get an FOV slider, grouped game saves by playthrough, and item filters for apartment stashes.
Here are a few important bug fixes included in the patch:
- Fixed a Nintendo Switch 2 error where saving caused an "insufficient space" prompt.
- Fixed an issue causing PlayStation 5 HDR settings to remain completely unresponsive.
- Resolved a progression-blocking bug involving the Delamain cab in the "Things Done Changed" quest.
