Daytona Platforms disclosed on Friday that it closed a $60 million Series B financing round, valuing the company at $1 billion. The round was led by FirstMark Growth, and the startup now reports total capital raised of $91 million.
Based in New York, the company attracted not only FirstMark, which also headed its $24 million Series A in February, but also a roster of high-profile angel investors. Among them are Patrick Collison of Stripe, Tobi Lütke of Shopify, Aravind Srinivas of Perplexity, Eric Yuan of Zoom, Olivier Pomel of Datadog, Adam D'Angelo of Quora (also an OpenAI board member), and Brendan Foody of Mercor. The round also included participation from Qualcomm Ventures, Samsung Next and Okta Ventures.
Founded three years ago, Daytona is developing a cloud platform tailored for long-running agents, which it says have distinct infrastructure requirements compared with traditional software. Founder Ivan Burazin wrote in a blog post announcing the financing that "Agents don't work like the long-lived services today's cloud was designed for. They spin up thousands of short, stateful jobs nobody planned in advance, and they need a cloud built for that." He added that Daytona's offering provides each agent with its own virtual machine, granting access to sandboxed Linux, Windows, macOS and GPU resources on a single platform.
