The Punjab Home Department has set up a five-member search committee to pick a director general for the Punjab Forensic Science Authority (PFSA).
A department spokesperson said the committee was created under Section 7(1) of the Punjab Forensic Science Authority Act, 2025, and the provincial cabinet approved it on October 11, 2026.
The notification states that the chairman of the Planning and Development Board will chair the committee.
Members will include the vice chancellors of Government College University, Lahore, and Information Technology University, Lahore, Industries, Commerce and Investment Department Secretary Dr. Muhammad Omar Masood, and the director general of the Punjab Agriculture, Food and Drug Authority.
The panel will examine applications for the PFSA director general role, shortlist qualified candidates and hold interviews.
After the assessment, it will advise the Punjab government on the most suitable appointment.
The notification also outlines the committee's terms of reference, noting that the PFSA's acting director general will provide administrative and secretarial support for the selection process, the spokesperson added.
