The Islamabad High Court joined together several petitions that dispute Capital Development Authority notices concerning claimed encroachments near Korang Chowk and nearby locations, keeping an active stay order that blocks the agency from executing harsh measures against the individuals who filed the suit.

Justice Muhammad Azam Khan signed a single-page written directive giving the Capital Development Authority and remaining respondents a period of two weeks to present their responses to the legal challenges.

The written directive notes that the lawyer representing the Capital Development Authority requested extra time to submit a power of attorney along with paragraph-specific replies.

The bench instructed the Capital Development Authority to finish required procedures and file a status report within a span of two weeks, scheduling the combined lawsuits for a new hearing following that duration.

Petitioners Malik Mumtaz and Zardan Begum filed challenges against Capital Development Authority warnings connected to a planned project to build a service road in that sector.

Earlier, the bench provided temporary relief to the plaintiffs by blocking the Capital Development Authority from carrying out forceful measures against them, and postponed the session by two weeks.
