Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam on Friday doubled the financial relief for the victims of a private school roof collapse in Dir Colony and promised to set up a government school in the neighborhood.
Muqam, who also leads the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, visited the location to offer prayers and express sorrow over the fatalities.
He passed along sympathies to the grieving relatives from himself, PML-N chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
A distributed press release noted that he called the event heartbreaking and criticized the lack of proper supervision during the construction of such a massive structure on girders.
An investigation has been ordered by the prime minister, Muqam stated, noting that the probe needs a fast conclusion so that officials who cleared the building plan face punishment.
To support the impacted households, Muqam stated that the financial aid previously promised by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor would be increased by one hundred percent.
Locals pointed out the lack of a public educational facility during his visit, prompting his commitment to build a government school inside Dir Colony.
He promised the community that remaining local concerns would receive attention and their feelings of neglect would be resolved.
