A new committee has been established by the University of Karachi to create its inaugural comprehensive Brand Book and Institutional Communication Framework, which will bring uniformity to official messaging and branding.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Wasim Qazi directed the project to unify the university identity, maintain uniform messaging across various channels, and meet global standards.
Registrar Professor Dr. Imran Ahmad Siddiqui released a notification stating that Syed Shamoon Haider, head of the Department of Visual Studies, will chair the committee and deliver a draft Brand Book, an execution strategy, and suggestions for rollout phases within 10 days.
Additional committee members comprise Murtaza Khalid, Wajiha Siddiqui, and Muhammad Mehdi from Visual Studies, Dr. Nousheen Raza representing Sociology, and Dr. Faisal Nazir representing English.
The group will draft consistent rules regarding the campus logo, color palette, typography, official paperwork, physical signs, online portals, social media profiles, student intake drives, and marketing assets.
Furthermore, the panel will set protocols for formal gatherings such as graduation ceremonies, talks, and symposia, alongside rules for messaging inside and outside the institution.
The upcoming framework will detail methods for honoring contributions made by former students, donors, businesses, and industry allies who fund grants, campus buildings, studies, and student programs.
Campus departments and employees received recognition in the same notification for their work on upgrading facilities, repairing buildings, and setting up student grants.
The announcement noted that official messaging and the campus setting must accurately portray the university standing in education, research milestones, heritage, and core principles.
