Governor Faisal Karim Kundi ordered the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority to initiate a province-wide sweep targeting vendors offering poor-quality meat, fruits, vegetables, and other provisions.

Director General Kashif Iqbal Jillani spearheaded unannounced checks at butcher shops, milk vendors, slaughterhouses, and other food businesses located on Charsadda Road, Dalazak Road, and the Faqirabad neighborhood of Peshawar.

Authorities handed a warning notice to a milk shop during these checks due to infractions of cleanliness rules.

Jillani inspected a slaughterhouse situated in Shah Alam along Charsadda Road, examining current conditions and telling employees to boost hygiene while following food safety laws.

Food safety squads throughout the region received orders from Jillani to step up checks and pursue strict legal penalties against merchants offering inferior food goods.

Public health and food standards admit no compromise, according to his warning, and rule-breakers will face legal consequences impartially.

Officials must tighten surveillance to guarantee that hygiene and food safety rules are met while making, keeping, moving, and selling food items, Jillani stated.

Director Operations Muhammad Yousaf and Deputy Director Peshawar Division Zeeshan Mehsud joined the inspection personnel during the visits.
