On Friday, the District Registration Authority gave private schools in Rawalpindi a one-week deadline to complete their registration, warning that unauthorized locations will be shut down. Additional Deputy Commissioner for Social Services Fazail Mudassar led the meeting where this order was issued.

Officials discussed legal compliance, safety checks, and the status of unregistered private schools during the session. Facilities that lack registration have seven days to provide required paperwork and meet legal standards, or else enforcement measures like sealing the buildings will happen.

Thirty-five newly opened private schools submitted registration requests during the gathering. Authorities turned down one request because of missing paperwork, while approving the other 34 pending the delivery of Science and Lab certificates.

Authorities also cleared fines for schools that disobeyed government orders throughout the summer break. Officials agreed to carry out an independent structural check of private school buildings, forming a committee led by the ADC for Social Services to oversee the work.

Yasin Khan Baloch, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the District Education Authority, stated that his department is currently inspecting 7,000 private schools and 1,300 public schools across the district to check for safety protocols and hazardous structures.

Inspectors have finished checking 5,000 schools and ordered 300 private facilities along with 143 public schools to upgrade their safety measures inside a week. Authority member Javed Khan raised an issue regarding Tehsil Municipal Administration officials issuing notices that demand commercialization of buildings while safety checks happen, asking the ADC to stop these actions.
