Sindh Government Lyari General Hospital reached a major milestone after finishing more than 100 gynecological robotic procedures for female patients, according to recent announcements.

A special event marked the occasion, drawing figures such as Sindh Health Secretary Tahir Hussain Sangi, MNA Yousuf Baloch, Nadir Nabeel Gabol, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical College Principal Professor Dr. Anjum Rehman, and Professor Dr. Sahar Fatima.

During his speech at the event, Health Secretary Tahir Hussain Sangi stated that bringing robotic surgery to Lyari General Hospital supports the provincial administration's goal of bringing advanced medical technology into the healthcare system.

He mentioned that the administration is bringing robotic procedures and modern equipment to other facilities like Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to enhance patient care.

He noted that robotic operations yield superior outcomes and advanced tools enhance treatment effectiveness, adding that additional healthcare projects will open across Sindh soon, including ongoing work in Razzaqabad and Gulshan-e-Hadeed.

Nadir Nabeel Gabol reported that the provincial administration dedicated 11 percent of GDP to healthcare and reserved roughly Rs400 billion for the sector, noting that the Lyari Transformation Project supports progress and advanced amenities locally.

Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical College Principal Professor Dr. Anjum Rehman described the delivery of 100 robotic procedures at Lyari General Hospital as a major accomplishment.

He pointed out that while robotic surgery is often viewed as costly, the procedure is actually 63 percent less expensive than standard surgery, and instructors are being prepared to train more medical professionals.

Professor Dr. Sahar Fatima discussed the advantages of tele-robotic surgery, explaining that the system enables a surgeon to operate while located in a different nation.

Provincial Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho previously opened the robotic surgery unit at Lyari General Hospital, which has now finished over 100 gynecological robotic operations, helping women from Lyari, other parts of Karachi, and distant cities.
